Dr Laura Hamilton

Dr Laura Hamilton graduated from The University Of Sheffield in the UK in 2006. After commencing anaesthesia training in the UK, and six years working for the NHS, Dr Hamilton moved to Western Australia to gain further experience in Intensive Care Medicine at Fremantle Hospital and Aeromedical Retrieval with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, WA. Dr Hamilton completed her anaesthesia training in Western Australia, rotating through all of Perth’s major tertiary teaching hospitals.
During advanced anaesthesia training Dr Hamilton undertook a simulation fellowship at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals. Dr Hamilton was awarded Fellowship of Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists in 2022. In addition, she holds a postgraduate diploma in Perioperative Medicine from University College London and has completed the ANZCA educator’s course.
Professional Interests
Dr Hamilton has clinical interests in general and regional anaesthesia for all adult surgical specialties. She has particular interests in Perioperative Medicine, crisis management, medical simulation and education, and obstetric anaesthesia. In addition, she maintains an active clinical education role as a member of the simulation faculty at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals. Dr Hamilton is the clinic lead for Perioperative Medicine at Fremantle Hospital and a member of the Perioperative Medicine Special Interest Group at Fiona Stanley and Fremantle Hospitals.
